FAQs

Here are some common questions about our Occupational Therapy services.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We’re in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaiser, and Medicaid. If we’re out-of-network for you, we’ll give you a Superbill so you can submit for reimbursement. Copays and coinsurance vary by plan, so we verify benefits during your intake call before you owe a dollar.

What happens in the first evaluation?

A licensed OT or SLP spends about 90 minutes assessing oral-motor strength, sensory responses to textures, and current food list. We observe a mock meal, check growth and weight charts, and talk through mealtime routines. You’ll leave with a verbal game-plan that day and receive a written report with goal recommendations within three business days.

Will my child eat new foods?

Most children make measurable gains: in our last six-month audit, 80 % added four or more new foods within the first 12-week block. Progress depends on age, medical factors, and how often families practice the home strategies we teach. We review the food log every four weeks, celebrate wins, and adjust the plan so variety keeps growing.

How many therapy sessions will my child need?

Most kids start with one 45-min session per week for 12 weeks. We review progress monthly; some goals resolve in one block, others need follow-up—always your choice.

What if we have to cancel or pause?

Because each therapist’s caseload is limited to ensure quality, your child’s weekly slot is reserved exclusively for you.

Pausing for more than 2 consecutive weeks releases the spot to a wait-listed family. When you’re ready to resume, we’ll re-enroll your child at the next available opening (typical wait: 6-8 weeks).

How to get started?
