ADHD & Autism-friendly

Social skills are teachable. We teach them.

Therapist-led practice with matched peers. Weekly progress updates. Real skills that show up at home and school.

What Your Child Gains in Our Sessions:

Real Friendships

Playdates and team sports are great, but they don't always teach the how. We do—joining in, turn-taking, and repairing after conflict.

Confidence With Peers

Kids are placed based on developmental fit, not just age. That way, practice feels doable and friendships can actually form.

Progress You Can See

After every session, you'll hear what clicked, what's next, and what to try at home.

Is this right for my child?

If your child wants friends but social time is confusing, overwhelming, or hard to recover from, this group may be a fit.

You might notice they:

  • Hangs back in groups (often does better one‑on‑one)

  • Gets stuck on turns, losing, sharing, or fairness during games

  • Misses or overthinks social cues and “hidden rules”

  • Has a hard time when plans change or play goes off‑script

  • Gets overwhelmed in noisy/fast play and needs a break or extra support to reset

  • Gets stuck after conflict and isn’t sure how to repair and re‑join

  • Seems fine at school, then crashes at home (social fatigue)

No diagnosis required. Autism-friendly and sensory-aware. We place kids intentionally so the group feels safe and successful.

The right group makes all the difference.

When kids are mismatched by communication level, regulation ability, or play style, the group doesn't feel safe.

That's why every child completes a short placement session before joining.

We observe how they enter play, respond to peers, and handle small challenges—then we build groups where kids are genuinely peers.

FAQs

Here are some common questions about our groups.

Is this group specifically for autistic kids?

Our groups are for kids who struggle socially.  We welcome both autistic and non-autistic kids.

  • Autism is a specialty at our clinic, and many groups are designed to support neurodivergent needs (sensory, flexibility, communication).
  • We also support kids who struggle with confidence, anxiety, or peer skills without a diagnosis.
  • Placement is based on developmental fit and support needs.
How is progress measured?

We measure progress using a research-informed, three-part approach so you can see what’s changing over time.

  • Parent rating (pre + post): You’ll complete a short standardized checklist at the start and end of the series.
  • Clinician tracking (weekly): Each week, our therapist uses a consistent rubric and a few simple counts to track skills like joining in, turn-taking, flexibility, and repair/re-join.
  • Repeatable skill check (pre + post): We use the same short play/conversation activities at the start and end to see what improved in a consistent setup.
  • Weekly parent update: After each session, you’ll hear what clicked, what’s next, and what to try at home.
What outcomes should we expect after 8 weeks?

Every child is different, and progress can look different from family to family. Our goal is to help your child build real, usable social skills, and to help you understand what’s improving and what to focus on next.

Many families notice growth in areas like:

  • Joining in play more confidently (or trying more often)
  • Staying in games longer with fewer “stuck” moments
  • Handling losing, fairness, and changes with more flexibility
  • Repairing after conflict and re-entering play more smoothly
  • More confidence in group settings over time
What if it’s not a fit?

We take group-fit seriously, and we won’t force a match.

  • If we believe another service is a better next step, we’ll tell you
  • If the group isn’t the right fit after starting, we’ll talk quickly and make a plan (switch cohorts if available, or discuss options)
  • The goal is a safe, successful experience for your child
What if my child is shy, anxious, or slow to warm up?

That’s one of the most common reasons families join, and we plan for it.

  • Predictable routine + gentle warm-ups (no “spotlight” pressure)
  • Structured partner practice before big-group moments
  • Clinicians coach kids in the moment so they’re not left to figure it out alone
Do parents attend sessions?

Parents typically don’t attend the session itself.

  • Kids do best when they can practice independently with clinician support.
  • You’ll still stay in the loop: after sessions, we share what clicked, what’s next, and what to try at home.
  • If a child needs extra support with separation, we’ll plan that together.
How big are groups, and how many adults are present?

Groups are intentionally small — we cap most cohorts at 5 kids.

  • 5 kids max, so every child gets real coaching
  • Two adults present: a lead therapist + an assistant
  • This helps us support different communication styles, regulation needs, and peer dynamics in real time
What if we miss a session?

We’ll help you stay connected even if you miss a week.

  • You’ll receive an asynchronous update (what we worked on + what to practice at home)
  • If it’s age-appropriate and scheduling allows, a brief Zoom check-in may be an option
  • Because group dynamics matter, makeups are limited—but we’ll help you keep momentum
What if I don’t see my child’s age listed?

We encourage you to still fill out our inquiry form.

  • We launch new cohorts and age bands based on demand and best-fit grouping.
  • Submitting the form puts you on our priority list as we expand.
  • We’ll reach out when we have an upcoming group that matches your child’s age and support needs.
Can I cover groups with insurance?

Groups are out-of-pocket (private pay) and we do not bill insurance for them.

  • We’ll clearly share pricing before you commit
  • Full Payment happens after your intro/placement step—not at inquiry.
  • If you need documentation for reimbursement, ask us what we can provide
